Muru’s Magic At Trois Rivieres As BMB Takes Double GRC Win!!!

Rando Muru done the double at GRC’s Season 8 Touring Car championship with outstanding drives to win the first double event for BackMarker Brigade in the teams history! Team boss and stunned commentator Simon Smith shotued his co commentator into silence as he was dumfounded and overwhelmed with the result!

Rando took a stonking pole in the sprint race and led from lights to flag in a stamp of dominance. He then qualified 4th for the feature race and by outfoxing everyone with a nifty strategy jumped everyone in the pits to lead the field home. These wins were all the more impressive as they were at the notoriously difficult Trois Rivieres circuit.

“I was and am still so overwhelmed and overjoyed at this success” said team boss Simon Smith. “Rando has worked wonders for us in all the formulae he races in, we can’t rate him highly enough! His drives were faultless and exceptional and I’d personally like to thank him for all his hard work and dedication to a team that has such small aspirations.”

That moves Rando Muru into 8th place overall in the division 1 championship! Division 2 goes next monday!

BackMarker Brigade Scores First GPO Win!

BackMarker Brigade’s Monaco specialist Dave Carr Smith made a triumphant one off return to the cockpit for the team and stormed to a fantastic win in the Grand Prix Online Sprint race around the Monte Carlo streets! It was a fantastic day for the team with Alex Cooper, Simon Smith and Craig Johnston coming home line astern in 5th, 6th and 7th!

Dave Carr Smith set the benchmark with pole position exactly half a second clear of the next man. It was then a Noah’s Ark with Maurice Zondag and Alex Cooper 8th and 9th on the grid with Craig Johnston pipping Simon Smith to 11th and 12th positions.

From the start Carr Smith held his lead while Alex Cooper spun exiting Casino Square and halted Craig Johnston for a moment dropping them down the field. They both began a recovery drive, with Smith letting Cooper passed for position as Alex had much faster pace in the race. Maurice Zondag looked set for a stonking result as he battled around the top 5 before he unfortunately lost connection and that was that.

Dave Carr Smith was untouchable however and took a commanding win, much to the delight of team boss Simon Smith. “I will never forget our first win in FSR at Monaco and it was great that Dave was able to come back and have a little bit of history repeating! To get our first GPO win, after so much hard work with everyone involved, its a real push for the team and we will be celebrating all week I can assure you!”

There was more reason to celebrate as Alex Cooper after made a late mistake and lost his nose cone, slipped passed a tyre worn Smith to steal 5th in the dying laps of the race taking another stirring result for the Brit. Smith himself continues his 100% finishing and scoring streak with a delighted 6th and Craig Johnston finished a personal best 7th after fighting his way passed several drivers to get there.

“It really was a fantastic weekend, one I will remember for a long time – I can now make a new post catagory of race wins now” said Smith. BackMarker Brigade will be marking the event with a dedication video later this week!
